Several dozen million cubic meters of rock sediments fell 1 km into the Kangilleq fjord, which triggered a tsunami that moved westward into the Karrat fjord. The tsunami wave, initially about 300 ft in height, reached the small village Nuugaatsiaq with an average speed of 275km/h and a height of about 30 ft. The tsunami left 4 people missing.
